Natural Serums for Skin

Which OZNaturals serum is best for me?

We carry a number of natural serums for face skincare; the one you choose depends on your skincare goals and concerns. For those seeking a robust anti-aging program we recommend incorporating more than one of our potent facial serums into a skincare regimen to provide a comprehensive, holistic approach.

Vitamin C Serum: OZNaturals Vitamin C Serum helps protect skin from free radical damage and environmental stress, helps with cell turnover, gives skin better tone, helps with discoloration of skin, and gives a brighter appearance to the skin. If your skin care concerns include age and dark spots, rough texture, fine lines or wrinkles, a natural anti-aging serum containing Vitamin C can deliver amazing results. While it enjoys a well-deserved reputation as an effective anti-aging ingredient, Vitamin C serum is not for mature skin only. Acne-prone, combination and oily skin types can also benefit from a daily dose of Vitamin C. OZNaturals Vitamin C Serum contains 20% sodium ascorbyl phosphate, one of the most stable and effective forms of Vitamin C.

Vitamin C + AHA Serum: By combining the gentle exfoliating power of alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) with the brightening and protective qualities of Vitamin C, this new serum pulls double duty when it comes to addressing the signs of sun-damaged and aging skin. Natural glycolic acid (the smallest of all AHAs) gently but effectively promotes skin turnover. Combined with the antioxidant superpowers of Vitamin C, this innovative serum addresses hyperpigmentation, wrinkles and fine lines and improves texture and tone. It is ideal for all skin types, and intended for daily usage.

Hyaluronic Acid Serum:This serum is designed for super hydration, and gives the skin a more supple and soft appearance. Hyaluronic acid is another serum ingredient that is truly beneficial for all skin types. Found in almost every cell in the human body, hyaluronic acid attracts and binds water. When applied as a topical serum, the result is more hydrated, plumped skin, with diminished fine lines and wrinkles. Because it helps naturally balance moisture levels, it’s beneficial for skin conditions ranging from extremely dry to oily, and from sensitive skin to normal. Our best-selling Hyaluronic Acid serum is also infused with Vitamin C for added antioxidant protection.

Pro-Retaxinol Serum: Our Retinol Serum improves skin texture, reduces the appearance of pore size and brown spots and creates luminosity and glow. A form of Vitamin A, retinol communicates with skin cells, stimulating them to behave like younger cells. Retinoids were first used in the 1970’s to treat acne, and retinol continues to be a beneficial ingredient for helping clear skin. Time and testing, however, have shown many other advantages such as lightening hyperpigmentation spots, and work for a variety of skin types. Retinol also increases collagen production and helps prevent free radical damage, resulting in a healthier, more radiant look. Although well tolerated by most skin types, those with very sensitive skin may want to start slowly and build up to daily usage to avoid any initial irritation.

What makes OZNaturals serums the best?

Natural skin serums formulations vary widely, and it’s wise to become educated on the best ingredients to look for before making your choice. Be skeptical of serums that don’t disclose what their active ingredients are, or claim to have some “miracle ingredient” that magically restore lost youth overnight. The reality is that well formulated serums should proudly state what their key ingredients are, and the results should speak for themselves.

Skincare has come a long way since the days when people bought into marketing hype and empty promises. There is a great deal of well-researched and documented science focused on the role and efficacy of anti-aging serum ingredients. Staying true to our mission of combining the best science with the power of nature, we use only scientifically researched and proven ingredients such as Vitamin C, Vitamin C + AHA, Hyaluronic Acid and Retinol in our advanced serum formulations. We combine these trusted ingredients with an effective concentration of the finest naturally sourced antioxidants including Astaxanthin, green tea, rose hips and Vitamin E.

At OZNaturals, we’ve enjoyed great success creating effective natural skin care products that have gained a large and loyal following. But that doesn’t mean we’re content to sit back and relax.

On the contrary, we are constantly looking for ways to improve and make a good thing even better. Important new developments in skin care science as well as new uses for time-honored ingredients make staying up-to-the-minute a vital part of our mission. Working with our state-of-the-art lab, we make the most of these scientific advancements and never rest in our quest to bring the latest advances to our customers.

At OZNaturals, staying on the cutting edge of science-based natural skin care is an exciting challenge that we fully embrace. We’ll never stop pursuing excellence in our effort to bring our customers the finest, and some of the best natural face serums available.

Why use a natural serum for your skin?

OZNaturals was founded on the belief that natural products could – and should – be as effective as those using less environmentally friendly and holistically sound practices. Our mission is to combine top skincare science with natural ingredients to make products that are both effective and affordable. We’re committed to using only the finest ingredients and most advanced formulations while staying true to our belief in the benefits of natural products.

It’s important to know what is in your serum. You may have heard about the controversy surrounding the use of a group of chemicals known as parabens in cosmetics and skin care products. If you are a natural skin care devotee, you’ve almost certainly seen the words “paraben-free” on labels and advertising. So, what exactly is the problem with parabens? Here is a brief summary of scientific debate on the subject, OZNaturals’ philosophy on parabens.

Parabens are a widely used group of preservatives, designed to extend the shelf life of personal care products by providing antifungal and antibacterial protection. It’s estimated that between 70% and 85% of all cosmetics on the market contain them. Because many brands don’t disclose all of their ingredients, you may have no way of knowing they are there. If all ingredients are shown, parabens may be listed as butylparaben, ethylparaben, isobutylparaben, methylparaben or propylparaben.

In the US and Canada, these chemicals are not regulated in cosmetic and other consumer products, largely because the Food and Drug Administration and Health Canada (the Canadian equivalent of the FDA) do not believe they pose a health hazard in low levels. But not everyone is so sure. Parabens are known to be xenoestrogens -- that is, they mimic the effects of estrogen in the body. In 2004, a British researcher specializing in the impact of estrogen on breast cancer, published a study that showed the presence of parabens in breast tissue taken from malignant biopsies. While the study did not assert that the parabens had caused the breast cancers, the fact that estrogen exposure is widely known to be linked to breast cancer brought extensive media coverage. And so the controversy began.

Many scientists (as well as the regulatory bodies mentioned above) don’t believe that the small amount of parabens used in cosmetic products pose a risk. But other researchers, including the U.S. Environmental Working Group, feel that the impact of long-term, cumulative exposure that comes from the use of multiple products containing parabens needs to be more closely examined. We agree.

Parabens are active ingredients that are absorbed into our skin. From there they are broken down, metabolized, and excreted by the body. This is a fact that both reassures and concerns members of the scientific community, depending on how they view the risk.

At OZNaturals, we don’t want ourselves – or our customers – to be the subjects of this particular experiment. There’s no doubt parabens are cheap and effective at extending the shelf life of skin care products. We choose to take a different route, however. We use only proven, safe and naturally derived ingredients to keep our products fresh. It takes a little more effort, but we firmly believe it is worth it. We hope you agree!

The OZNaturals Difference

There are a lot of companies selling natural serums for your face these days. Knowing the demand for anti-aging skincare products, companies have jumped into this market without the knowledge and commitment it takes to produce a truly efficacious product. OZNaturals was co-founded by a Certified Aesthetician who knew firsthand from both her professional experience and personal skincare challenges what it takes to make a truly great skincare serum.

We start by sourcing only the best raw ingredients. Our Vitamin C Serum, for example, uses a uniquely stable form of sodium ascorbyl phosphate to ensure potency and effectiveness. We include hyaluronic acid and a mix of antioxidants including green tea, rose hips and Vitamin E. Our Hyaluronic Acid Serum uses botanically derived hyaluronic acid from the Cassia Angustifolia seed. OZNaturals Pro-Retaxinol Serum is the only retinol serum with Astaxanthin, a super antioxidant hundreds of times more powerful than other forms of antioxidants.

Our packaging also makes a difference. We package our light-sensitive serums in amber glass bottles and all come with a dropper delivery system to ensure freshness, potency and ease of use.

All OZNaturals products are created using no potentially harmful synthetic chemicals, including parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals and sulfates. Our entire product line is proudly cruelty free.

We invite you to experience for yourself our approach to effective natural skincare.

Why use a serum?

Want to jump-start your skincare routine? Add a serum. Too often, skincare consumers forego this important step and miss out on important benefits that only a serum can deliver.

A lot of people are confused by serums or find them all to be ridiculously expensive. They’re not sure exactly how best to use them or don’t think they’re appropriate for their skin type. We’ll try to demystify the subject here, and discuss why it’s important to incorporate a serum, how best to use one, and what to look for in a great product.

Serums are concentrated products that are applied to clean, toned skin prior to a moisturizer, sunscreen and/or makeup. They contain high levels of active ingredients that can make a visible difference in skin health and appearance.

Serums can be used morning or evening, or both. Generally only several drops are needed, making them both effective and economical. Depending on the products used and your skincare concerns, serums may also be layered, delivering double benefits.

Always follow your serum application with a high quality moisturizer and sunscreen during the day (especially when using retinol products.) While serums will begin to work immediately, you’ll see the best results with regular usage over a period of 30 days and beyond. Stick with it, and reap the benefits and change that an effective serum can bring to your skin!
